What Shoe to Choose and When

Alright people, we’ve all done it.... let’s learn from it! Earlier this week I made a silly decision to go running in super old shoes. Totally knew better but was craving a sweat! Well, turns out I gave myself a little hammy strain and I blame my shoes! So, a few quick tips on shoes:

1️⃣ REPLACE shoes every 300-500 miles (depending on running routine, this could be every 6 mo-1yr).

2️⃣ Choose STABILITY LEVEL.

  • “Overpronators”, choose increased stability. Make note, some pronation in normal with running!

  • Everyone else, choose a neutral shoe. These are my high or neutral arch people or those who have proper foot strength!

3️⃣ Choose CUSHION TYPE:

  • Minimum cushion for running short distances.

  • Moderate cushion for running mid-long distances.

  • Max cushion for running long distances, joint pain, or those who are har heel strikers!

If I lost you.... replace your exercise/running shoes at least once a year!! If you need help choosing shoes, send me a message! Ps: Stay tuned for what I did for my hammy!
