Low Back Pain

Studies show early referral to physical therapy for low back pain (less than 4 weeks from the time of onset!!) reduce the likelihood of chronic pain, physician visits, injections, and time away from work!

Other fun facts:

The prevalence of 1. Reoccurring episodes of low back and 2. Acute low back pain turning chronic continue to increase.

Imaging is recommended very carefully. Most cases of low back pain do not need imaging.

Strengthening exercises, movement assessments, manual therapy, and general endurance training (going on a walk) all help reduce low back pain and prevent reoccurrence!

Botton Line: See a physical therapist as soon as possible for best results!
